really, the bible was written by nothin' but goat herders?
i don't post much but this does irk me.
yes a few may have been shepherds or fisherman, but a fair amount were far more educated and were professionals in their fields of occupation.
The mockery of the Bible writers isn't so much the best that critics can do - there is much better criticism that can be leveled against the Bible and its authors here on JWN and in libraries and websites around the world.
We mock because it's fun and because it tweaks the self-righteous and gullible followers of an ancient book.
As for how advanced they were, LMAO. They knew some things and imagined a LOT of things. They were primitive.
a woman i've known for years recently confided in me.
she told me she found out her jw husband had been secretly e-mailing his jw ex-girlfriend.
he was telling his ex about how difficult it had been for him since his wife was now basically an apostate.
I think recommendations on what to do depend largely upon what she wants at this point.
Is being married to an active JW a marriage worth saving? Is any marriage in this situation worth saving?
I was raised Borg and got married young. Never lived on my own until my divorce in my 40s. Had I known earlier what I know now, I'd have ended the marriage years ago. So I guess one of my points is that this could be a great opportunity.

Then, rather than go out of your way to show the world how much you don't know, you'll actually know things and be able to add productively to the discussion.

I admire those who are willing to teach and explain science to people. I don't have the patience for it. Once I read and understand and "get it" I have trouble exercising patience for those who still don't. Kudos to you.
